ENZYMES
Enzymes are special proteins
that are synthesized by living cells to catalyze
the reaction
directly in
it. Enzymes are catalysts. Most are
proteins. Enzymes bind temporarily to
one or more of the reactants of the reaction they catalyse. In doing so, they
lower the amount of activation energy needed and thus speed up the reaction.
Enzymes are
composed of
protein, therefore the
effect of pH
is closely related to the
acid-base properties
owned by the protein. Effect
of reaction
mostly up, with
a rise in
temperature to
a certain extent.
Each rose 100C the
reaction speed
up twice. The
temperature
has two opposing effects on enzyme
activity. Increase in
temperature will increase
the activity of the enzyme, the
reverse is also
going to denaturation of
enzymes
An
important function of
enzymes is as biokatalisator, collectively forming chemical reactions of
intermediary metabolism
of cells, a very
small part of
a large protein molecule plays
an important role
for the enzyme catalyzed
reactions
The
enzyme consists of
two parts, namely coenzyme and apoenzyme. Coenzyme and apoenzyme to
form an
active enzyme that haloenzim. Without
the coenzyme,
the enzyme becomes
inactiv
